Full job description
The Assistant HR Manager plays a key role in supporting the human resources operations of the hotel. The role involves assisting with recruitment, employee relations, training and development, performance management, compliance with labor laws, and ensuring a positive work environment for all hotel staff. The Assistant HR Manager will work closely with the HR Manager and the leadership team to develop and maintain an engaged and efficient workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Staffing:
Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job openings, reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and assisting in the selection of candidates.
Ensure job descriptions are updated and aligned with the hotel’s needs.
Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they are introduced to hotel policies, procedures, and culture.
Employee Relations:
Foster a positive working environment through employee engagement initiatives, conflict resolution, and regular communication.
Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries and concerns.
Ensure adherence to hotel policies and provide guidance on employee conduct and performance.
Training and Development:
Assist in the development and delivery of training programs related to employee skills, customer service, compliance, and safety.
Ensure that new employees undergo proper training and are introduced to the hotel’s values, policies, and standards.
Help identify areas for staff development and recommend training solutions.
Performance Management:
Support the performance appraisal process, ensuring timely evaluations and feedback for staff members.
Assist in monitoring employee performance and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
Coordinate employee recognition and rewards programs to motivate and retain talent.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure that the hotel adheres to all local labor laws, hotel regulations, and health and safety standards.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HR system, including personal details, attendance, and performance reviews.
Assist in the preparation and submission of reports related to HR metrics and compliance.
Payroll and Benefits:
Assist in the coordination of payroll processing, ensuring that all staff members are paid accurately and on time.
Support employees with inquiries related to benefits and compensation packages.
General HR Administration:
Assist with the day-to-day HR operations, including managing HR documentation, preparing internal communications, and maintaining an organized HR filing system.
Coordinate staff leave requests and ensure compliance with the hotel’s attendance policies.
Participate in employee engagement activities and events.
Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in HR, preferably in the hospitality industry.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and employee relations.
Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Working Conditions:

The Assistant HR Manager may be required to work on weekends or during holidays depending on staffing needs.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic hotel environment.
