Overview

The quality of school education available to students from low-income communities across India is abysmal. Their chances of getting admitted to a college or building a career are much lower than their high-income peers, condemning them to a life without voice or choice.

iTeach was born to declare war on this status quo and create a level playing field for ALL children. We do this in Pune and Navi Mumbai by co-creating contextual school models with Municipal Corporations.

We run 12 free and high-impact secondary schools and a college-to-career program for the most disadvantaged students. In 2024, with a staff of 300 members across 12 schools, we served 4500 students and 3000 alumni – giving students a fighting chance at college, career, and citizenship. We aim to grow to 30 schools and 10,000 students over the next five years.

Key Responsibilities:

A teacher at iTeach Schools wears multiple hats to ensure an excellent education for their students. The three different parts of the role are:

Teaching your subject (60% time)

● Teach one or two subjects of your expertise to your class

● Conduct regular tests and assessments to monitor learning and give feedback to students

● Build a positive and strong school culture with a focus on learning and joy

● Collaborate with parents of the students through regular meetings to ensure their active involvement

Mentoring students (20% time)

● Mentor nearly 15-20 students throughout the year

● Develop ways to ensure that these students have strong study habits, high attendance, and the drive to excel – share these plans with all teachers across the ecosystem
Help with school projects (20% time)

● Collaborate with Senior Teachers to implement school projects such as Hobby Clubs, Career Awareness, Annual Day, Sports Day, etc

● Use these opportunities to strengthen your leadership skills and mentor new teachers

Prerequisites

Required: Bachelor’s Degree with strong academic and holistic performance
Required: B Ed Degree with 60% and above
Preferred: CTET (Paper 1 or 2) / MHTET
Preferred: Teaching experience in a secondary grade for 1-2 years

Pay: ₹33,000.00 – ₹38,000.00 per month
