About The Function

The Good and Green team is responsible for designing and driving the Godrej Industries Group’s sustainability and social impact ambition, covering Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The function works closely with leadership across all our Group companies and cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, supply chain, R&D, packaging, HR, investor relations, legal, audit and communications, to create ambitious environmental and social programmes.

About The Role

As a Good and Green Manager with the Good and Green team at Godrej Industries Group, you will play a pivotal role in driving sustainability innovation. Your expertise will help identify and integrate cutting-edge technologies, solutions, and frameworks from around the world to meet both immediate and long-term challenges.

By aligning innovative approaches with business needs, you will contribute to achieving our ambitious sustainability goals. Additionally, you will shape the group’s long-term energy future by identifying and securing new clean energy sources, negotiating with vendors and ensuring timely availability of high-quality, cost-effective fuels for operations across locations.

Key Responsibilities

Keep abreast of the latest advancements in environmental technologies, including energy efficiency, renewable energy, water management, carbon capture, green hydrogen and bioremediation.
Identify gaps between current practices and long-term sustainability targets and evaluate solutions to close those gaps effectively
Evaluate emerging technologies, assess market trends, and develop roadmaps for scalable adoption
Present techno-commercial evaluations, policy insights and other key factors to align solutions with business needs
Represent the organisation at innovation forums, industry seminars and academic discussions to understand global trends and present our needs
Work with plant teams to forecast resource requirements and ensure seamless supply chain operations, including quality checks and logistics management
Control costs, secure long-term contracts, and standardise pricing across regions
Collaborate with engineering teams on pilots, boiler redesigns and supply chains for facilities transitioning to renewable resources
Partner with cross-functional teams to innovate and continuously improve resource quality

Who are we looking for?

Education: Master’s Degree in Technology or Science

Experience: 9–12 years of post-graduate experience managing, evaluating, and reporting on sustainability initiatives and working on environmental projects (energy, water, waste, etc.)

Skills

Strong domain knowledge in sustainability: energy, water, waste, and emissions
Passion for learning, science, and innovation with a focus on blue-sky thinking
Ability to craft solutions from use-case challenges
Expertise in creating financial models, forecasting trends and navigating regulatory developments
Proficiency in energy systems, boilers, biofuels and conversion technologies
Experience in techno-commercial evaluations and vendor management
Mastery of contract negotiation and QA/QC principles for inbound material assessment.
Strong communication skills for supply chain development
Simplify complex solutions and effectively communicate their business relevance to stakeholders
Build and nurture networks with innovators, peers and academic institutions
Solve challenges with a strategic understanding of business sustainability goals
Operate independently within a diverse network of business units
Exhibit confidence and charisma to foster relationships with suppliers
High energy and willingness to travel to understand regional procurement ecosystems
