Responsibilities

Interpret and read blueprints: Understand engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications to determine how to assemble and weld components.

Fit and assemble components: Lay out, position, align, and secure parts using measuring tools, clamps, and tack welds before the final welding process.

Perform welding: Use various welding equipment (like MIG, TIG, or stick) to join metal parts according to specifications, often in different positions like flat, vertical, or overhead.

Operate tools and equipment: Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, and other equipment to prepare and shape metal.

Inspect work: Conduct quality control checks to ensure welds and assemblies meet specifications and standards.

Maintain equipment: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on welding equipment to ensure it is safe and efficient.

Ensure safety: Follow all safety policies, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean work environment.
