Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to join our school’s finance team. The Accountant will be responsible for managing the school’s financial transactions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining budgets, and supporting the financial decision-making process. This role will play a key part in maintaining the financial health of the school while ensuring compliance with all relevant financial policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements.
Record day-to-day financial transactions, such as tuition fees, grants, donations, and operational expenses.
Ensure all transactions are recorded according to school policies and financial regulations.
Budget Management:
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the school’s annual budget.
Track expenditures and identify discrepancies or areas of concern.
Provide regular reports to the Finance Manager on budget variances and financial performance.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Process invoices and payments to vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
Prepare and track student fee invoices, ensuring timely collection and follow-up on overdue accounts.
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable balances regularly.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and school board review.
Assist in the preparation of tax filings, including VAT, corporate tax, and other regulatory filings.
Maintain a clear audit trail of all financial transactions for internal and external audits
Cash Flow Management:
Monitor daily cash balances and manage the school’s cash flow to ensure adequate funds are available for operations.
Forecast cash flow requirements and prepare cash flow statements.
Petty Cash Handling
Financial Analysis:
Assist in analyzing financial trends, expenditures, and income sources to help guide school leadership in financial decision-making.
Recommend cost-saving measures or investment opportunities as needed.
Compliance and Audit:
Ensure adherence to financial regulations and school policies.
Prepare for and assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Ensure compliance with local tax laws, education regulations, and any other relevant financial regulations.
Job Types: Full-time, Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 6-8 months
Pay: ₹15,000.00 – ₹30,000.00 per month
