Full job description
1. Librarian.

(a) Key Responsibilities.

· Oversee the daily operations of the library, including cataloging, classification, and maintenance of books, periodicals, and digital resources.

· Ensure the library is well-organized, accessible, and conducive to reading and research.

· Regularly update the library’s inventory to include new and relevant materials.

· Guide students in using library resources effectively for academic research and personal development.

· Collaborate with teachers to provide resources that complement the CBSE curriculum and classroom instruction.

· Develop and enforce library rules, ensuring a respectful and productive environment.

· Monitor the proper use of library resources and maintain discipline among students.

· Maintain accurate records of library transactions, book loans, and overdue items.

· Prepare reports on library usage and recommend improvements to school management.

(b)Qualifications & Skills.

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Library Science (B.Lib./M.Lib.) or equivalent qualification.

· Minimum 2-3 years of experience in library management, preferably in a CBSE school.

· Strong organizational and cataloging skills.

· Proficiency in library management software and digital resources.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students and staff.

(c) Additional Requirements:

· Ability to work collaboratively with other staff and contribute to the overall growth of the school.
