Job Summary
About Aseema:Â Aseema is a Mumbai-based NGO that is committed to equipping children from marginalized communities with high quality, value-based education, enabling the development of their limitless potential. We run three municipal schools in Mumbai in partnership with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), and one school for tribal children in Igatpuri. Aseema reaches out to 4,400 children living in vulnerable circumstances in urban slums and tribal communities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
NUTRITION & MEAL PROGRAMME:
To be aware of and work in accordance with Aseema’s approach
To be in charge of the Nutrition programme at our schools in Mumbai and Igatpuri.
To analyse the Nutrition programme and report on the findings/outcome.
To design a format for identifying clinical signs and symptoms of Nutritional Deficiency – to be used as an adjunct for height weight
To conduct data analysis and interpretation for all the schools of Aseema in the format requested by the Donors.
To share the report on height-weight data with Head / Incharge – Community Work Cell for first term as well as second term.
To provide guidance and knowledge to develop appropriate menu (diet) plan for the children in Aseema schools.
To guide team of social workers for the proper implementation of the nutrition program.
To help our team to develop appropriate assessment tools to monitor the growth of our children.
To develop Aseema Nutrition handbook and Menu Ingredient list.
To guide our kitchen team on cooking, cleanliness, storage of meals, personal hygiene through quarterly meeting.
To reinforce the food safety, hygiene and nutrition training conducted last year.
To facilitate parents sessions on topics related to health and nutrition as and when required.
To suggest appropriate nutritional supplements to be given to the underweight children.
To submit a monthly report to Head / Incharge – CWC on the overall Nutrition Programme
To visit the schools every week and Igatpuri school once in a month.
To conduct one on one counselling session with malnourished children and their parents to inculcate healthy eating practices.
To develop SOPS on Meal and Nutrition programme and share with CWC team.
Qualification, Skills and Experience
Graduate / Post Graduate in Nutrition and Health
Minimum 2-3 years of relevant work experience
Good verbal and written communication skills
Open to travelling to Igatpuri – Nasik
Candidates residing in Mumbai are preferred.
